A long time ago when the earth was green
there was more kinds of animals than you'd ever seen
They'd run around free while the earth was being born
but the loveliest of them all was the unicarn

	There were green alligators and long necked geese
	Some humpy back camels and some chimpanzees
	There were cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
	The loveliest of them all was the unicarn

But the Lord seen some sinnin'  and it gave him pain
He said "Stand back - I'm gonna make it rain"
Said "Hey, brother Noah, I'll tell you what to do
Build me a floatin' zoo?"

	You take some green alligators and some long necked geese
	You take some humpy back camels and some chimpanzees
	You take cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
	Noah, don't you forget about my unicarns

And Noah was there and he answered the callin'
And he finished up the ark just as the rain started pourin'
And he marched in the animals two by two
And he called out as they went through

	Hey Lord, I got green alligators and some long necked geese
	I got humpy back camels and some chimpanzees
	I got cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
	Lord, I just don't see none of your unicarns

And then the ark started moving and it drifted with the tide
And the unicarns looked up from the rock and they cried
And the water came up and sorta floated them away
That's why you've never seen a unicarn to this very day

	You'll see lots of alligators and a whole mess of geese
	You'll see humpy back camels and some chimpanzees
	You'll see cats and rats and elephants, but sure as you're born
	You're never gonna see no fuckin' unicarns
